Welcome to Purpose To Be Heard ®, where the world of sport & culture meets the art of storytelling. We are an athlete-led production company dedicated to sharing the real and raw truths of athletes and creators around the world.

We have a small but mighty team of passionate former athletes, creators, producers, directors, writers, and storytellers. Our focus is to create captivating content that celebrates success, joy, adversity, and untold stories beyond sport. We produce everything from bite-sized digital content to docuseries and short films that inspire, motivate, and are committed to telling the human side of athletes' and creators' stories, striving to make a great impact in the world.

Founded in 2020 by former women’s college basketball player and on-air personality, Nia Symone. After graduating from Alabama State in 2019, she transitioned out of basketball after 18 years and went into the ‘real world’. Nia noticed many disparities and a lack of resources and representation for athletes finding their way in a new world that didn’t include the daily responsibilities of being a student-athlete. After connecting and hearing her peers' stories and even her own personal struggles of the transition out of sport, she knew she had to find a way to share the unvarnished truths of former and current athletes like herself. Her goal was to tell the stories of the unheard, overlooked, or forgotten greats. Nia decided to intersect two of her passions: sports and storytelling, to create a space for athletes to share their own stories and guide and educate the next generation, while also giving athletes who played at smaller institutions or took different routes after sports a platform to make their voices heard, too.  

Here at Purpose To Be Heard, we strive to bring forth authentic and powerful narratives from athletes around the globe. Through our storytelling, we are athlete-led first. Our goal is to entertain, educate, empower, and humanize athletes & creators through our content and remind the world that we will be heard!
